Build your career with net zero knowledge
This is a fully funded five-week green skills bootcamp for technically minded people and sustainable start-ups delivered by London South Bank University (LSBU).
We're on the hunt for future workers, leaders, and innovators, as these bootcamps offer real-world employable skills in sustainable engineering - from solar power to the circular economy.
You'll benefit from learning in small groups of 12 participants and the next course starts on:
- Monday 9 June 2025
The bootcamps are supported by the Mayor of London and HM Government, Department for Education.


What will I learn?
This is a crash course designed to equip you with practical skills in applied sustainability for the future of engineering. From solar energy systems and sustainable design thinking to carbon accounting and domestic energy use – you’ll learn what it takes to shape a low-carbon future.
• Week 1 - Overview: green skills in context• Week 2 - Systems and Tools: Engineering for solar power
• Week 3 – Homes and Offices: How buildings work
• Week 4 – Business and Policy: Carbon accounting
• Week 5 – Residential and Commercial: Understanding energy consumption
Wrap around employability support
Whilst working with the experts you'll also get a behind the scenes glimpse at how to access industry. Working with LSBU's emploaybility team you'll receive:
- Interview training
- CV masterclasses & clinics
- 1-2-1 guidance and employer talks
- Employer and entrepreneurial talks
- Introductions to MS Office

Impactful
The bootcamp runs Monday - Wednesday for five weeks starting 9 June 2025. Working with LSBU's practitioners, you'll come away with the skills, confidence and knowledge to design the future of engineering.
Accessible
These courses are open to anyone aged 19 or over who is unemployed, living in London, with secondary school maths and computer literacy. See full eligibility criteria below.
Fully funded
The bootcamps are free to attend as they have been funded by the Mayor of London and HM Government. You will get the most out of these sessions if you are enthusiastic about technical subjects.
