Build your own future-proof skills
Retrofit Revolution is a three-day workshop that establishes your pathway into a career in green construction and sustainability.
You will gain a practical understanding of the UK’s retrofit sector, how increasing a building's heat efficiency benefits the nation, and the career options open to you. All whilst enjoying the support of an employment coach to progress into further training or work.
Once you have completed your three-day workshop you'll be eligible to complete a one-day top-up workshop and earn a Level 2 City and Guilds Qualification in Retrofit Awareness.

It's a huge sector with a variety of jobs, opportunities and progression routes from Retrofit Assessor and Heating Engineer to Fire Protection officer and Admin Manager.
Please note that Retrofit Revolution is specifically for South Londoners who are not currently in work or education.

Retrofit Revolution is designed for unemployed residents in South London who are considering progression routes into further training or employment within the green or construction industries.
Accessible
The programme has a community-based learning approach to ensure you can access learning around your other commitments.
Fully-funded
The training and employment opportunities in this programme are fully funded thanks to support from the Mayor of London and the European Social Fund so there is no cost to you. This funding is to improve the employment positions of Londoners from all walks of life.
How can I be certain this is right for me?
Before starting you will get to discuss your career ambitions and make an informed choice as to whether the green sector is right for you.
You'll get to scan your current skills and discuss any barriers to learning you may have before developing your own bespoke training plan.
You are also invited to taster sessions where you'll be introduced to the retrofit and green sector including the variety of jobs, salaries, skills and progression routes.
What will I learn?
You will come away with real world knowledge of the:
- Relationship between climate change and the built environment
- Importance of retrofit, construction approaches and materials.
- Use of solar, wind and heat pumps
- Relevance of air tightness in buildings
- Necessary requirements to make buildings more efficient
- Soft skills such as confidence, teamwork, timekeeping and leadership that are required to progress into jobs or further training

Your learning will be flexible and take account of your other commitments, time, travel and caring requirments. You'll learn through a mixture of:
- Practical activities and demonstrations
- Masterclasses and workshops delivered by employers
- Face-to-face classes
- 1-2-1 guidance
- Group work

Whilst working with the experts you'll also get a behind the scenes glimpse at how to access industry. You'll receive:
- Interview training
- CV clinics
- 1-2-1 guidance
- Employer talks and job searching advice
- Introductions to MS Office
- Progress reviews and a career development plan
